About Me.

Marie is a PAL author and content creator for a small business she owns with her husband who she’s not yet married to. Having a second start in life upon moving home to the United States from China where she spent her 30s, Marie is far from understanding what adulting is and if she should participate.

Marie’s twelve-year-old toy poodle is NOT a muse for her writing, in fact, she’s never successfully written an anamorphic story, although she’d like to. Rather, her stories reflect her culture and her wish to encourage younger and older generations of Asian Americans to kick down the doors of communication and storytelling.

Having been deprived of stories in her early years, Marie took to saying ‘yes’ to the experience’s life has afforded her. With a flurry of anecdotes floating around in her head, she hopes to write for more than just the picture book market. Her latest venture, Middle Grade novels. In addition to this, she actively works on developing her writing course for entrepreneurs as well as her blog which will focus on magical realism.

She is the author of Yuna’s Cardboard Castles and Baba’s Peach Tree and has three additional manuscripts in development with Disney Hyperion and Random House Studio. In her free time… well, she doesn’t have much of that but when she does, she enjoys cooking with her teenage daughter, traveling around the world, and reading (but that’s a given).
